Replace Sharing Key

There are rare circumstances where it would be beneficial to replace your sharing key for security reasons. For example, if a device was lost and not locked down, the sharing key should be replaced.

If your sharing key is replaced, all of your existing contacts will need to indicate that you are a trusted contact. For for more information on Creating Sharing Contacts, click here.

On android

Tap on Home > Sync
On the Sync screen, tap Replace Sharing Key.
The Replace Sharing Key screen will be displayed. Tap YES, I'M SURE. You may want to contact Codebook support before performing this action because it cannot be undone.
To authenticate, enter your Master Password. Tap Submit.
Confirmation that yor sharing key was replaced will be displayed. Tap to dismiss. You are also given the option to display the firngerprint for your new Sharing Key.

On ios

Tap Sync on the tab bar.
On the Sync screen, tap Replace Sharing Key.
The Replace Sharing Key screen will be displayed. Tap Replace Sharing Key.
To authenticate, enter your Master Password. Tap Submit.
Confirmation that yor sharing key was replaced will be displayed. Tap Done.

On macos

From the Sync Menu, select Sharing -> Replace Sharing Key.
Select Replace Sharing Key.
To authenticate, enter your Master Password. Click Submit.
Confirmation that yor sharing key was replaced will be displayed. Click Done.

On windows

From the Sync Menu, select Sharing -> Replace Sharing Key Fingerprint.
Select Replace Sharing Key.
To authenticate, enter your Master Password. Click Ok.
Confirmation that yor sharing key was replaced will be displayed. Click Dismiss.
